Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read messages known as tweets. Twitter is a dead simple way to blog and tells world “What are you doing now?”
Twitter gives us more power to interact with the world, and it is an incredible way to share the most up-to-date news and information. However, Twitter is not perfect, and this is why Twitter has included a powerful Twitter API in to their program which allows smart code monkeys to develop all sorts of interesting visualizations and tools.
Twitter applications have become so popular, because they tweak Twitter to make it that much better. Twitter applications are merely websites which complement Twitter and improve its usability.

- Tweetdeck – TweetDeck is an Adobe AIR desktop Twitter application. TweetDeck is your personal browser for staying in touch with what’s happening now, connecting you with your contacts across Twitter, Facebook and more.
- TweetStat - Create precise statistics of your habits on Twitter during the months. It’s a great way to keep track of your stats and usage metrics or anyone on twitter for that matter of fact.
- Twtpoll - Twtpoll is a feedback tool that helps you to create and distribute polls on Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites.
- TwitterCounter – Unlike the previous application, synthetic graphics Tweetcounter returns the number of people who follow. Interesting to be able to make comparisons among multiple accounts.
- Twitterfeed – Quick and easy to use: automatically imports any feed on Twitter.
- Twitbin and Twhirl - Two simple methods for using Twitter: the first is a firefox plugin that allows you to manage your account (see and send messages) in a sidebar of the browser, while the second is an excellent client to manage multiple accounts.
- Twellow - The yellow pages for Twitter: this directory free accounts order by subject and location, offering good visibility to those who register. With Twellow, you can search for someone on Twitter or browse through various tweet categories.
- Tweetlater - A complete suite (available as a free or pay) to deploy out of their chirping. Among the many features: tweets planning, tracking of keyword, automatic welcome message to new followers, auto follow, those reporting no longer follows his own account, and much more.
